'peeps 4.0 Launch Stunt Draws Results
We've not finished analysing the results from the $1,000 give-away for guessing ten starbust colors in a row (out of a string of 200), but we are prepared to reveal the traffic statistics.
On June 23, peepscreative.com recieved 285 unique visitors to watch Christopher Wymer nearly destroy his GI track with Starburst chewy goodness. All this traffic from a few tweets and one little email blast to a few friends (which has also netted us one solid client lead that has - after two meetings - gone to the proposal stage.)
In addition to the traffic, the stunt has also yielded several unexpected results for Christopher. First, he'll never eat another starburst. Also, he has a new low-grade stalker that spent the entire day watching him eat starburst and get into sporadic nerf fights.
So, fourteen total tweets, one email blast and a little word-of-mouth goes a long way toward driving traffic. And that's just something we came up with as a diversion over a few beers and inspired by a hideous example of a starburst used on a direct mail piece we got at the studio. Imagine what we could do with a budget and a real goal.
